Who is this training for ?
Les cours de préparation au niveau 3 du WSET de Weeno se déroulent sur cinq jours. Vous découvrirez les facteurs clés qui interviennent dans la production viticole. Vous apprendrez également à déguster et évaluer un vin, à travers une sélection de plus de 75 vins produits en France, en Europe et dans le Nouveau Monde. A la fin de votre formation, vous serez en mesure d’évaluer des vins avec précision, en déterminant avec assurance leur style, leur qualité et leur potentiel de garde.
How does it work ?
The WSET level 3 in wine includes 30 hours of course in the classroom, taught by WSET certified trainers, and 60 hours of personal study. The course takes place over two weeks. It consists of a first 3 -day session, followed by a break dedicated to the practice and preparation of the exam. The second 2 -day session is sanctioned by examination.
Your teaching material will be given to you when registering, to allow you to prepare your session. You will find the essential points covered during training, as well as tasting grids and self-assessment exercises.
We recommend a minimum of 60 hours of personal work in preparation for your training.

Unit 1
- The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling The key characteristics of the principal:
- still wines of the world
- sparkling wines of the world
- fortified wines of the world
- How to apply your understanding to make authoritative recommendations
Unit 2
- How to taste wines and evaluate quality, identity and price, using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
Assessment
At the end of the 30 hours of wines training, you will be assessed on the knowledge acquired during a closed book test. To pass unit 1, you will have to answer 50 multiple choice questions, as well as four short written questions in 2 hours. To pass unit 2, you will be subject to a blind tasting test of two wines, during which you will be asked to describe a wine precisely and to analyze its quality.
To get your WSET 3 certificate in wine, you will have to answer 55% of the questions properly for each of the units. The success rate for the exam by Weeno in 2021 is 84% (all the students who validated the exam succeeded with mention).
In the event that you fail the exam, it is possible to take it again. The cost of registration for a resit is 100 euros for the theory test and 100 euros for the practical test, 200 euros in total if you have to re-sit both tests.
Pre-requisite and accessibility
Having obtained the WSET 2 Award in Wines or being able to prove an equivalent level of knowledge is strongly suggested in order to succeed in this training. You must be 18 years old to register. Excellent comprehension and writing in the selected language are also encouraged to follow the training.
