WSET Level 2 Award in Wine

A beginner to intermediate level qualification exploring wine and spirits

Enroll the WSET Level 2 Intermediate Course at Weeno. You will discover the main wine regions around the world and the grape varieties that are grown there. At the end of your training, you will be able to recognize the different styles of wine produced from these grape varieties, read a label and offer various food and wine pairings. You will taste 50 wines produced in the most notable vineyards of the planet, from France to Chile via the United States, Italy, Spain and Australia. Thanks to our partnership with the BIVB, you will also benefit from two hours of additional courses dedicated to Burgundy wines

Who is the course for?

The WSET 2 is designed for beginners, amateurs or professionals. After two days of diploma training, you will be able to work in the trade of the wine and spirits sector. This program is also intended for people who wish to undertake a professional reconversion.

    • The production of sparkling, sweet and fortified wines

    • Food and wine pairing principles
    • The principal categories of spirits and liqueurs, and how they are made
    • How to describe a wine using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine ® (SAT)

How you’ll learn

WSET 2 includes 30 hours of study, including 18 hours of classroom instruction, delivered by WSET certified trainers. A booklet will be sent to you at your registration, to enable you to prepare for your session. You will find the essential points covered during the training, as well as tasting grids and self-assessment exercises.

Evaluation and diploma

At the end of the sixteen-hour course, you will be evaluated on the knowledge acquired during a closed book test. You will need to answer 50 multiple-choice questions in 1 hour. To graduate, you will have to answer 55% of the questions correctly. You will receive a WSET 2 certificate.

Course delivery

This qualification has a minimum requirement of 28 hours of study time, including 16 hours of classroom.

Assessment

Assessment is by a closed-book exam of 50 multiple-choice questions.

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. You must be 18 years old when you are attending the course to participate in any alcohol tasting.
